On the last day of the first month of the lunar year, the financial branch of Amoy University Hong Kong Alumni Association hosted the New Year’s gathering in the Infinitus Plaza. Ten more senior alumni and elites from HK financial circle and the leaders of the alumni association gathered together and talked freely.
As the representative of the host Haitong International, Yan Minying delivered New Year’s greetings to all the alumni. In the meantime, she also introduced Haitong International’s development strategy “Grounded in Hongkong and look toward the future” as the pioneer of international financial institution with Chinese Capital, which was consistently acclaimed.
Later, Yang Jianxin, managing director of International Asset Management Department of Haitong International and senior investment director shared some of his reflections and experience, emphasizing the practical use of theories such as Asset allocation, Funds management and Dynamic position monitoring. The alumni heatedly discussed with him.
Furthermore, Liu Mingzhe, chief economic analyst of the Nomura Group shared her opinions on the general trend of 2017 global economy. She pointed that the most dangerous risk came from the uncertainty brought by the regime change in some main countries in euro zone, which may cause instability to the European and its foreign currency. Meanwhile, America’s new president Trump was a threat to the global market.
At last, Pu Yonghao, an experienced alumni in HK financial business presented his opinions toward the hot topics previously mentioned. From global politics and economy to domestic livelihood, and from property-value bubble to luxury goods industry, Pu explained the profound theories in simple terms, making the alumni roundly and deeply understood the financial trend in the next year.
After the meeting, President of the alumni association Fang Ping, President of the financial branch Chen Shaojie and the President of Haitong International wished all the attendance a Happy New Year. Then the alumni enjoyed the supper together.
