XMU Leaders Visit Colleges and Attend Alumni Activities in Australia

From August 28th to 30th, Lin Dongwei, deputy secretary of the school party committee and vice chairman of the general alumni association of Xiamen University, accompanied by Zeng Guobin, secretary general of the general alumni association, attended the 10th anniversary celebration of the XMU Australia alumni association since its foundation, visited Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and the XMU Melbourne alumni association and presented flags for these two alumni associations.

During his stay in Sydney, Lin attended the 10th anniversary celebration of the XMU Australia alumni association since its foundation. In his address, he conveyed his happiness in seeing that with joint efforts of the alumni in Australia, the xiamen university alumni association of Australia has successfully developed for ten glorious years, during which, it has inherited and carried forward fine traditions and spirits of alma mater and has organized many colorful alumni activities, making great achievements in strengthening connections among alumni and enhancing deep feelings between alma meter and alumni. Lin also introduced the latest situation of the development of xiamen university, which greatly inspired alumni and cheered them up.

He Jianxiang, chairman of the XMU Australia alumni association, retrospected its foundation and development in ten years. Keeping in mind the motto “Pursue Excellence, Strive for Perfection”, the alumni association pools the wisdom and efforts of alumni in Australia and forms its own style, attracting great attention in Australia Chinese Community. He hoped the association will make further improvements and achievements. Then, Du Xiaoying, treasurer of the association, made financial reports. Alumni representatives, Lin Sansong and Huang Huansong, and representatives from the XMU Melbourne alumni association delivered their speeches and placed their great expectations on the alumni association. Liang Jie, vice chairman of the XMU Australia alumni association, read the congratulatory letter from Chen Jiangyan, the first chairman of the association, and messages from Gong Yichu, who worked for 60 years in XMU.

During his stay in Melbourne, Lin visited Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, making deep communication with the relevant responsible person of this school about its student affairs, student counseling service, logistics service and so on. He also visited the XMU Melbourne alumni association, holding friendly exchanges with chairman Zhen Xiaojun and former chairman Ke Mingzhe of Melbourne alumni association , which, registered in 2006 and officially founded in 2012, has already organized lots of colorful activities and greatly enhanced connections among alumni.
