XMU 95th anniversary celebration by Amoy University HK Alumni Association and the inauguration ceremony of 2016-2018 HK Alumni Association council members, the 2nd Law Branch and the 1st Financial Branch council members were held in Hong Kong City Hall on the evening of April 30th.
Yang Bin, vice president of XMU, Fang Ping, new chairman of Amoy University HK Alumni Association and former chairman of General Union of HK and Amoy, Wang Shaohua, honorary chairman of HK Alumni Association, Liu Zhiming, sub-inspector of the ministry of education, science and technology of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in HK, Lin Guangzhao, honorary chairman of Hong Kong Federation of Fujian Associations, Xu Lanfang, chairman of 2014-2016 HK Alumni Association council, Zhou Tao, new chief supervisor of HK Alumni Association, Chen Shaojie, chairman of the 1st Financial Branch Council, and over 700 alumni attended XMU 95th anniversary celebration by Amoy University HK Alumni Association and the inauguration ceremony of the new council.
Xu Lanfang, chairman of 2016-2018 HK Alumni Association council, in her address, said that in these 67 years alumni in HK have taken active part in “Love China Love Hong Kong” activities, integrated themselves into HK society, given full support to the HK SAR government in their administration according to law, performed civic duties and so on. On the occasion of XMU 95th anniversary celebration and the inauguration of the new council, he expected the alumni association would, under the leadership of the new chairman and chief supervisor, carry forward Tan Kah-kee spirit and make more achievements. Fang Ping, new chairman of the HK alumni association, said that alumni association is not only a platform for alumni to communicate with each other but also the bridge and bond connecting alumni. He expressed his gratitude for the support from alumni and promised that the new council will perform its duty and devote to serving alma mater and alumni.
Yang Bin, in his address, conveyed warm regards for alumni in HK from Zhang Yan, secretary of the school party committee and Zhu Chongshi, president of XMU. He acknowledged that the great achievements made by alumni in HK have earned wide honor for alma mater and reflected modest and self-disciplined XMUers. By virtue of persistence and gentleness, alumni from all walks of life have made great accomplishments and will make further achievements together with alma mater.
Then, Yang presented chairman and chief supervisor tablets for Fang Ping, new chairman of Amoy University HK Alumni Association and alumnus of Grade 1978 graduated from the Department of Statistics, Zhou Tao, chief supervisor of Amoy University HK Alumni Association, new chairman of Law Branch and alumnus of Grade 1988 graduated from the Department of Law and Chen Shaojie, the 1st chairman of Finance Branch and alumnus of Grade 1981 graduated from the Department of Physics.
