The first Graduates of Management Science Celebrated the 10th Anniversary of Graduation

On April 6, 2014, the first graduates of management science reunited by the Furong Lake.

In 2000, the newly-born Department of Management Science consisted of 45 students who came from all round the country. They studied and lived together, leaving a good memory in Xiamen University.

It has been ten years since the first students of Management Science graduated. On April 6, 2014, the time when Xiamen University celebrated her 93th birthday, they gathered round Furong Lake to resume friendship. Professor Xu Di, Deputy Dean of School of Management, Professor Peng Lifang, Director of Department of Management Science, Professor Miu Chaowei, Deputy Director of Department of Management Science, attended the party. The class meeting was kicked of by Director Peng Lifang with the introduction on the development of Department of Management Science. Then, schoolfellows made comments on the theme “reminiscence, harvest in ten years, wish for a better future ”, recalling the time they spent in the university.

The ten years from 2004 to 2014 witnessed the grown-up of the students of Class of 2004, but also the development of Department of Management Science. In these ten years, graduates were engaged in information technology, electronic commerce, Internet, logistics, finance, real estate, insurance, investment, software, human resources, education, and other fields. Apart from the achievement of the students, management science has transformed to a complete discipline system and a platform including undergraduate, master, and doctor education from a undergraduate major. The number of the faculty has increased to 20 from 7 with great achievements in teaching and scientific research, being the indispensable part in School of Management.

The spirit of steadiness, bravery, optimism, and unity have stimulated students of Department of Management Science to achieve the success in the past but also strive for the future.
