On July 26, the symposium of Class of 1980 of political economy, School of Economy was held in Economy Building to celebrate thirty years of graduation.
The symposium kicked off at 9 in the morning. Professor Hong Yongseng, on behalf of School of Economy, welcome the alumni to the alma mater, recalled his close connection with Department of Economy, and introduced the achievements which had been made recently. Wu Xuangong, Li Zhu’ai, Li Bingxun, Huang Dingji, and other teacher representatives showed their delight about the achievements of the alumni in their speeches, and wished they could meet each other more often. Then, Shen Qingfen, Shan Ming, Zheng Dongliang, Cong Zhen, Shen Qinhua and other alumni expressed their gratitude to the alma mater and their teachers.
The symposium lasted two days. Of the 41 students, some of them have achieved much accomplishment in their career, including leaders of national ministries and commissions, scholars of Cornell University, Xiamen University, and other famous universities at home and abroad, and principals of enterprises in China and overseas.
